The depths of of Winter Solstice in the southern hemisphere symbolise rebirth, rest and renewal.  I witness this in my regular icy plunges into our local bay where the seagrass emerges, sprouting in the shallow parts of the bay. Each year its a reminder of seasonal changes above and below the water line.
